Mecca Bingo Hall Destroyed by Wild Party

A Mecca Bingo hall in Islington has been destroyed by ravers who ‘partied like wild animals’ according to local police. The illegal party – held in the hall which was closed in March due to company restructuring ahead of the July smoking ban – saw seats ripped out and thousands of bingo slips strewn across the main hall and caused ‘untold’ damage.

Bingo Workers in Brazil Stage Mass Strike

Ten thousand workers in Brazil staged a demonstration in front of the country’s National Congress to call for a regulation of the bingo industry according to the Brazilian Bingo Association.

Sector workers were responding to a recent federal police crackdown on bingo venues, which are currently deemed illegal in Brazil.

Massachusetts Casino Plans ‘Bingosino’

The Mashpee Wampanoags’ tribe in Massachusetts is planning to open an Indian casino resort in Beacon Hill, Boston. However, if denied permission they will open a ‘Bingosino’ instead.

‘Bingosinos’ are casinos that feature bingo slot machines instead of video slot machines. Those bingo slots are allowed even in the state where slots are banned. The main reason: the wiring system in bingo slots is not the same as the one used in video slots.
