A new study by St. Minver has suggested that the majority of UK bingo players prefer to play bingo online because they find it ‘more sociable’. People responding to the survey said they prefer to chat while playing and were encouraged by the growth of Internet platforms for meeting new people, catching up with friends and ‘gossiping’.

The gaming service provider’s study also found Southern players were keenest to chat online, whereas Northerners were more competitive, preferring not to give their secrets away.

A majority of players combined playing with another form of activity while in the home, while 78 per cent of the 2,667 people surveyed had children and enjoyed the flexibility online provided.
